Corrupt Data Recovery

If a file cannot be opened or sent to the re-cycle bin, the chances are that it is corrupted. Many things can cause a file to be corrupted.

It could be a virus infection, software failure or a system crash.  If a file that has just been downloaded will not open, it could be that it was corrupted during the download.  Files can also be corrupted if there are defects in the file system of the hard disk, or the disk itself. Also, if the data transfer rate is too slow during download, it is possible that the file will be flawed and would not open. Corrupt data can badly effect the efficiency of your computer and should be rectified as soon as possible.

Corrupt files can make one miserable, but the good news is that it is highly probable that these files can be fixed or saved.  Corrupt data recovery is possible.

Because there are so many things that can cause files to be defective, there are also many ways to solve the problem.  Corrupt or lost files can be restored from recent backup. Numerous programs automatically produce backup files. Microsoft Word, a widely used word processing program, automatically backs up .doc files with .wbk files.  So, if you find that your Word document file is corrupted, look for the file in the same folder with the extension .wbk and change it to .doc.  This will enable you to open it using MS Word.

The System Restore tool can also be used for corrupt data recovery purposes, if the problem is caused by bad installation or accidental disk format. Windows XP allows for the rollback of system files to their previous state when the system was working properly. If your system fails to work normally after installing or uninstalling software or and update, just rollback to the previous working states of you system.

There is so much software out there that can help you to recover or fix different types of files.  Just Google terms such as “Fix broken files” or “Fix corrupt files” or any other term that you think can lead you to the right software, and you’re sure to find help of some sorts.

If any attempt to fix or recover your file fails, you might have no option but to pay for the services of experts who specialise in corrupt data recovery, which will save you the frustration, time and stress of trying to do it yourself.
